About the Teacher
Hello! My name is Tracy Mangold. I am owner, administrator and teacher at the Little Tree Kinderhaus school, a state licensed family in home care facility and nature based school in Viroqua, Wisconsin. I have been teaching for nearly 30 years in early childhood and elementary school settings. I hold a degree in Special Education and training in Waldorf Teaching. I have taught in Day Care, Public and Private, Montessori and Waldorf classrooms. I lovingly opened Little Tree Kinderhaus 13 years ago and it continues still. I am blessed to spend my days with the children, singing, playing, creating, working, learning, cooking, walking in the woods, celebrating the rhythms of the days, seasons, years and much much more.
About the School
For over 13 years now the children of the Little Tree Kinderhaus have been climbing trees, walking the woods, moving together in circle, grounding firmly in their physical selves upon this earth. They have learned to communicate and negotiate play in kind meaningful ways, connecting and caring for self and the group. The school is located in my home in Viroqua, Wisconsin within walking distance of three wooded areas that we play in and have come to love and care for. We enjoy taking walks throughout the neighborhood and observing the sights of nature and life in the community. We have steady rhythms guiding our way smoothly through daily transitions. The children are immersed in story, puppetry, plays, craft, work and song. We spend much time together as a family sharing meals, laughter and daily lessons as growing human beings.
